A new year brings new journeys, challenges, and goals. And along the way, we all need support – for me, streetlights are a metaphor for that support. They don’t move – but they help us move forward. These designs are intentionally not tied to any specific year, which means they can be used every year. The emotions they represent are timeless. Whether it’s a new calendar, a personal shift, or a quiet decision to change, they reflect every moment of beginning again.
The collection includes three artworks:
- Let There Be Light
- One World, One Light
- The Road Ahead
Story Behind these Artworks
All three designs in this collection come from one simple fascination — street lights. I have always been drawn to them, especially the “Y”-shaped ones, where two lights extend on both sides. They are not just useful — they make city nights feel beautiful and sometimes even a little romantic. Street lights have a quiet but powerful presence.
They are not just useful — they make city nights feel beautiful and sometimes even romantic. Street lights have a quiet but powerful presence. Life on the road at night is almost impossible without street lights. That’s how important they are — yet we rarely notice them.
Over time, I began to see a deeper idea in them. That “Y” shape stayed with me, and I kept thinking about what kind of design could come from it. Slowly, it started connecting with the word Happy in “Happy New Year.” That was the moment everything came together.
1.LET THERE BE LIGHT

Understanding this Artwork
The artwork presents a series of street lights arranged in a cross-like structure, glowing against a dark and chaotic background. The light stands still, yet it illuminates everything around it, suggesting guidance without movement. The surrounding red particles create a sense of noise, confusion, and emotional turbulence, contrasting sharply with the calm, steady glow of the lights. The composition subtly communicates that even in overwhelming darkness, a single source of light can create clarity and direction.
Concept Behind the Artwork
At its core, this piece explores the universal human need for guidance. Light here is not just illumination but awareness, belief, and inner strength. It connects to moments of uncertainty — when people search for direction, meaning, or purpose. The artwork suggests that light does not need to move or dominate; its presence alone is enough to influence the path ahead. It resonates with themes of hope, resilience, and the quiet power of staying steady in a chaotic world.

2. ONE WORLD ONE LIGHT : THE WORLD IS ONE FAMILY

Understanding the Artwork
This artwork brings together diverse human faces within a unified circular form, symbolizing completeness and shared existence. The circle acts as both a visual boundary and a unifying force, suggesting that despite differences, all individuals belong to the same whole. The presence of the street light structure adds another layer — a shared source of light that belongs to everyone equally. The composition emphasizes connection, equality, and collective identity.
Concept Behind the Artwork
This piece explores themes of unity, belonging, and shared humanity. In a world often divided by geography, identity, and belief systems, the artwork challenges the idea of separation. It suggests that light, opportunity, and existence itself are not exclusive but universal. The concept resonates strongly with contemporary global conversations around inclusion, diversity, and coexistence. It is a reminder that beyond all constructed differences, there exists a deeper, undeniable connection.

2. NEW JOURNEY

Understanding the Artwork
The artwork visually represents a road lined with street lights that gradually increase in size, creating a sense of depth and progression. The repetition of similar structures suggests continuity, while the change in scale indicates growth and movement forward. The perspective draws the viewer into the path, making them feel part of the journey. The glowing lights guide the way, implying that progress is not random but illuminated step by step.
Concept Behind the Artwork
The artwork connects deeply with the concept of personal growth and the passage of time. It reflects how progress is often subtle and incremental, yet transformative over distance. The journey is not just physical but emotional and psychological. It speaks to ambition, perseverance, and the courage to keep moving forward even when the destination is not fully visible. The piece captures the essence of evolution — how small steps, consistently taken, lead to significant change.
The road will have ups and downs, but there is always light along the way. Stay positive and keep moving forward.

Final Reflection
This collection is not really about street lights — it is about what they quietly represent. They stand still, yet guide movement. They don’t demand attention, yet make everything visible.
In many ways, life is similar. We move through uncertainty, looking for direction, support, and clarity. Sometimes, that support comes from unexpected places — for me, it is the street light.
Through this collection, a simple everyday object becomes a symbol of guidance, unity, and moving forward. Because in the end, no matter where we are in life, we all need a little light to keep going.’
