Understanding the Artwork

The artwork uses the visual metaphor of a zipper opening to reveal light from within. The glowing burst represents an emotional release filled with happiness — as if something long held inside is finally coming out. The golden tones add a sense of warmth, value, and positivity. The two sides of the opened zipper form a “Y” shape, connecting with the “Y” in Happy and Year.

This idea came from a simple, real moment. One morning, while jogging, I was feeling a bit heavy and uncomfortable, so I opened the zipper of my jacket. As it opened, it formed a “Y” shape — and that instantly caught my attention.

A zipper is usually meant for protection and to keep things closed. But in that moment, opening it brought a sense of freshness and relief. That small feeling stayed with me.
